The Ballyliffin Lodge Hotel & Spa is a luxury, family-run hotel located in the heart of Inishowen, Co. Donegal. Overlooking Ireland’s Wild Atlantic coastline, the hotel caters for weddings, events, conferences, and golf breaks, offering guests a premium hospitality experience in a truly scenic setting.

To enhance its outdoor amenities, the hotel commissioned a new patio and landscaping scheme using locally sourced natural stone to complement the surrounding coastal landscape.

The Brief

The objective was to create a durable and visually cohesive outdoor space that would:

• Reflect the natural beauty of the Inishowen coastline
• Use locally inspired materials to enhance authenticity
• Provide a high-performance surface suitable for heavy footfall
• Complement the hotel’s premium guest experience

A key requirement was sourcing a natural stone that could withstand the harsh Atlantic climate while maintaining its visual appeal year-round.
