McMonagle Stone Supplies Twin Towns Footbridge Project Over River Finn

McMonagle Stone is pleased to share that the official opening of the new Twin Towns €800k footbridge took place at 2pm on Monday, 19th November 2018.

This state-of-the-art pedestrian bridge features a boardwalk-style design supported by the existing masonry arch structure. In keeping with the original stonework, the project team selected locally sourced materials, including schist and Irish Blue Limestone wall capping, to ensure a sympathetic and cohesive finish.

McMonagle Stone was delighted to supply our Silver Shale Walling Stone (also known as schist) along with bespoke Irish Limestone wall capping for this impressive new development. The result is a striking structure that blends modern engineering with traditional materials, enhancing its natural surroundings.

The bridge now provides a safe and accessible crossing for pedestrians and cyclists over the River Finn, while also offering beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
