This guide is based on the manufacturer’s recommended installation instructions.

    Before You Start

Ensure the following conditions are met:

    • Suitable for draining surfaces only (e.g. permeable sub-base, gravel, or grit)
    • Minimum joint width: 3 mm
    • Minimum joint depth: 30 mm
    • Ground temperature above 0°C
    • Avoid use on non-permeable concrete with insufficient fall (minimum 2% gradient required)

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Apply JOINTEX Easy Joint

Step 1: Clean Out the Joints

Remove all existing jointing material to a depth of at least 30 mm. Ensure joints are clean, dry, and free from dust, debris, and loose particles. Clean the paving surface thoroughly before application.

Step 2: Thoroughly Wet the Surface

Wet the entire paving surface generously using clean water. This helps reduce staining and ensures better joint compaction.

    • Keep the surface damp during hot weather
    • Prevents the mortar from drying too quickly on the surface

Step 3: Apply and Fill the Joints

Open the JOINTEX Easy Joint bag and spread the material evenly across the paving.

    • Use a soft broom or squeegee to work the product into the joints
    • Compact firmly to ensure full joint filling
    • Repeat application if settlement occurs

For best results, lightly spray with water to improve compaction.

    Step 4: Clean the Surface

Once the joints begin to firm up:

    • Rinse the surface gently using a fine spray
    • Remove excess residue with a soft broom, brushing diagonally across joints
    • Avoid excessive pressure washing at this stage

Repeat until the surface is clean and joints are fully filled.

    Step 5: Curing Time

Curing times may vary depending on weather conditions and application method:

    • Wet application: approx. 36–48 hours at 20°C
    • Dry application: walkable after approx. 8 hours
    • Fully loadable after approx. 3 days

    Storage After Opening

Any remaining JOINTEX Easy Joint can be stored for future use:

    • Seal unused product in the bucket
    • Cover with at least 1 cm of water
    • Close lid securely
