Description

Blue Limestone - Machined

Blue Limestone is a high-quality natural walling stone formed over millions of years in ancient marine environments. Rich in calcite and natural minerals, this sedimentary stone is valued for its distinctive blue tone, durability, and versatility in both building and landscaping projects.

Known for its consistent colouring and clean natural appearance, Blue Limestone is a popular choice for house facades, boundary walls, garden features, and architectural stonework. Its refined colour palette works beautifully with both modern contemporary designs and traditional stone construction, making it a reliable material for residential and commercial developments alike.

With its natural strength and timeless character, Blue Limestone provides a long-lasting walling solution that enhances the visual appeal and value of any property.

Natural Colour Variations

Blue Limestone features a predominantly blue to blue-grey colour, offering a uniform and elegant appearance once installed. The stone’s composition is primarily calcite-based limestone, formed from compacted marine sediments over thousands of years.

This consistent colouring makes Blue Limestone particularly suitable for structured masonry projects where a cohesive stone finish is desired.

Machined Finish

Each stone is machine-split on 2–3 sides in our production facility, ensuring that every piece has at least one workable face for wall building.

This preparation makes the stone easier to handle during construction while still retaining a natural quarried texture. Depending on the wall style and joint finish required, additional dressing by a stonemason may be carried out on-site.

Blue Limestone walling stone is also commonly referred to as a machine block, a term used in masonry to describe stone prepared with workable faces for efficient wall construction.

Bulk Bag Coverage

Approximately 3.3 - 3.7 m² per bulk bag.  Coverage may vary depending on stone size, joint width, and installation method. Use our building stone calculator to help estimate the number of bags you require.

Applications

Blue Limestone is an excellent choice for domestic house builds and commercial properties, where it can be used to create:

  • External stone walls

  • Decorative stone facades

  • Entrance pillars and gate features

  • Traditional or contemporary masonry finishes

Its strong structure and natural appearance make it ideal for long-lasting decorative stonework on homes.

Key Benefits of Natural Building Stone

  • Unique Natural Beauty - Every piece of natural stone features unique colours, patterns and textures, creating a distinctive and high-end finish.
  • Exceptional Durability - Natural stone can withstand harsh weather and the test of time, making it ideal for building and landscape projects.
  • Low Maintenance - Natural stone requires minimal upkeep compared to many alternative materials, saving time and long-term maintenance costs.
