Sizes
900 x 450 x 20mm (Stock Size) Porcelain Tiles Porcelain tiles are crafted from a specific blend of clay, sand, and feldspar, and are fired at high temperatures, making them more dense and durable than ceramic tiles.
Advantages
Versatile Use: Suitable for both internal and external applications.
Modern Aesthetics: Features contemporary designs with large sizes and consistent colour.
Durability: More robust than ceramic tiles, ideal for high-traffic areas.
Precision: Rectified edges ensure narrow, uniform joint gaps.
Low Maintenance: Easy to clean and maintain.
Moisture Resistance: Absorbs less water, suitable for wet areas. Scratch Resistance: More resistant to scratches and scuff marks.
Disadvantages
Brittleness: More fragile and challenging to cut compared to ceramic tiles.
Batch Variations: Potential differences in colour, texture, and size between batches.
Porcelain Batch Warning
Due to the nature of porcelain batch production, variations in colour, texture, and size can occur.
To ensure consistency:
Order Full Quantity: Purchase all tiles from the same batch.
Extra Tiles: Order an additional 3–5% to cover future replacements.
Batch Records: Keep a record of the ‘batch colour code’ from the packaging.
McMonagle Stone cannot guarantee specific batch availability or maintain batch records.
Porcelain Installation
Twice Qz Cream porcelain tiles can be used for:
Internal Flooring: Typically 10mm thickness.
External Flooring: Typically 20mm–30mm thickness.
Walls: Depending on tile weight.
High Moisture Areas: Suitable for wet rooms and pool areas.
For optimal results, we recommend hiring an experienced professional with a proven track record in laying porcelain tiles. We advise using stack bond or third bond patterns to accommodate tile variances. Half bond patterns may highlight these variances, potentially causing visible bends and water pooling.
