Description

Gravel grids are also known by various other names, such as gravel stabiliser grids, aggregate grids, gravel mats, or plastic driveway grids. Although different manufacturers or suppliers might use different names, the concept remains the same. Gravel grids are designed to create a stable and durable gravel surface, suitable for driveways, footpaths, parking areas, terraces, gardens, and sports areas.

Our gravel grids are made from 100% recycled polypropylene and are UV-resistant. They come in white and feature a nonwoven, mechanically bonded geotextile membrane at the bottom. This membrane helps prevent gravel, stone chippings, or aggregates from sinking or shifting, which can cause ruts. Additionally, the membrane assists in preventing the growth of weeds.

Gravel Grid Size

The gravel grids are supplied in a size of 1200 x 800 x 30mm, with a honeycomb structure diameter of 42mm.

Packaging

Gravel grids are sold per square metre (m²). Each pallet contains 72m² of gravel grids.

Gravel Grid Benefits

Easy to install Low maintenance solution Prevents weed growth Creates a stabilised gravel surface for walking and driving Enhances the appearance of driveways, pathways, footpaths, access roads, and gardens Reduces gravel loss and breakage Suitable for sloped areas with a breaking strain of 400 tonnes per m² when filled An environmentally friendly alternative to tarmac or concrete Provides a firm yet permeable base for water drainage Gravel Grid Installation Considerations Gravel grids can be installed on grass, mud, or any permeable surface, but it's crucial to have a solid base. Ground preparation requirements vary depending on the project, intended use, and loading requirements. It is advisable to consult with an experienced groundworks contractor to determine the appropriate depth, drainage, and sub-base materials required.
