Porcelain Tiles
Porcelain tiles are manufactured from a precise blend of clay, sand, and feldspar, and are fired at high temperatures. This process results in a dense, durable tile that is harder than ceramic tiles.
Advantages
Versatile Application: Suitable for both internal and external use.
Modern Design: Features a consistent and sophisticated beige colour.
Enhanced Durability: More resistant to wear and tear than ceramic tiles.
Rectified Edges: Provides uniform and narrow joint gaps.
Low Maintenance: Easy to clean and maintain.
High Moisture Resistance: Absorbs less water, making it ideal for wet areas.
Scratch-Resistant: Suitable for high-traffic areas.
Disadvantages
Brittleness: More prone to brittleness and challenging to cut.
Batch Variability: Variations in colour, texture, and size may occur between batches.
Porcelain Batch Warning
Since porcelain is produced in batches, there may be variations in colour, texture, and size.
To ensure consistency:
Order Complete Quantity: Purchase all tiles from the same batch.
Extra Stock: Order an additional 3–5% to accommodate for potential replacements.
Batch Records: Keep a record of the ‘batch colour code’ from the packaging.
Please note that McMonagle Stone cannot guarantee stock from specific batches and does not maintain batch records.
Porcelain Installation
Cervino Beige porcelain paving can be used for:
Internal Flooring: Typically 10mm thickness.
External Flooring: Generally 20mm–30mm thickness.
Wall Applications: Depending on weight and application.
High Moisture Areas: Suitable for wet rooms and pool areas.
For best results, we recommend hiring an experienced and reputable professional skilled in laying porcelain tiles. Use stack bond or third bond patterns to accommodate tile variances. Avoid half bond patterns as they may accentuate inconsistencies and result in visible bends or water pooling.
