McMonagle Stone was delighted to partner with Jane McCorkell for the 2015 Bloom In The Park in Dublin. Jane's show garden concept ‘Our Origin is Green’ was based on the Celtic knot design of two dogs found in the Book of Durrow. The garden demonstrates Celtic design through the use of modern Irish materials and shows an emerging confident Ireland after its recent reflective period. The design includes a seating area completed using our very own Silver Donegal Quartzite Walling and Mountcharles Sandstone Paving and Wall Capping. Both indigenous materials are quarried in Co. Donegal. To reach this area the visitor has a choice of two paths; a secure path to the left or over water by stepping stones to the right. This journey represents the various paths Irish people have had to travel in the last decade, with the end result being a confident and modern Ireland. The sculpture of the human shows the importance of reflection on oneself and your natural surroundings.
