Porcelain tiles are made from fine clay and other natural materials. These materials are then mixed together and heated to higher temperatures. This process makes tiles denser and more durable, meaning that they are more resistant to wear and last longer than traditional ceramic tiles. This makes porcelain more appealing to both domestic and commercial customers.

When considering porcelain for outdoor patio areas make sure your chosen porcelain slabs are suitable for external applications. Outdoor porcelain should be thicker at a recommended thickness of 20mm. External porcelain tiles should also be frost proof and resistant to temperature changes.

Unlike natural stone, porcelain flags are less porous which means they absorb very little water. As a result, porcelain can be slippy when wet. Given our weather climate it is important to ensure your outdoor porcelain tiles have a high slip rating. The higher the rating the better the grip you will have when walking on the tiles during rainfall.

Porcelain paving has become very fashionable due to the endless range of styles and colours available. As they are easy to clean and maintain, customers are finding it easier to justify the higher price tags. Tiles are available in various sizes however we may only stock certain types of porcelain in one stock size. This does not mean that they cannot be sourced in your preferred size, just that there will be a longer lead time to import from our supplier.
